So You Lost Your Fintwist Card, Now What?

It’s a story as old as time: you were riding the Shock Wave roller coaster down at the Six Flags having the time of your life, and you didn’t even notice your Fintwist card was missing. After burning thousands of calories screaming your head off, you decide to treat yourself to a sweet frozen treat—and that is when you notice your paycard is lost!

Here’s what to do if you lose your Fintwist card:

Ask your friends to borrow some money to get yourself some ice cream, and then look for your missing card. If you have searched everywhere and still cannot find your card:

·       Open your Fintwist app and lock your card to prevent any one else from being able to make new transactions with your card.

·       Give us a call at 888-265-8228 to tell us that you have lost your card.

·       We will send you a new card that will take 7-10 business days to arrive.

·       Your first replacement card each year is free; subsequent replacement cards are $10.

How do I access to my money while I wait for my new card?

A week is a long time to go without a card, so while you wait for your replacement to arrive, the employer that you received your Paycard from may offer temporary instant issue cards for your immediate use. If so, once you receive your new replacement card from your employer, you will call us again, activate your card and you are all set. This will allow you to make purchases while you wait for your new card to arrive.

What if I don’t work for the employer who gave me the card or my employer does not have instant issue replacement cards?

You can use your Fintwist app or third parties like Venmo and Paypal to send funds to another account or a trusted person like your partner or parent. If you send money to someone else, they can then give you the money you sent in cash by removing it from their account. If you do this, make sure to un-freeze your card from the Fintwist app first, and then freeze it again after you have transferred your funds.

What if someone uses my lost card?

If someone makes a fraudulent transaction on your card before you are able to lock it in the Fintwist app, you are protected by Mastercard’s Zero Liability Policy. As long as you have taken reasonable care in protecting your card from being lost and you report the unauthorized transaction(s) to us promptly by calling 888-265-8228, you will not be held liable for any purchases you did not make.

What do I do once my new card arrives?

Once you get your new card, call us (last time in the lost card process, we promise) and we will get everything transferred over to your new card and ensure that you are all set with your new card. Once your new card is activated, your temporary card will be closed. Be sure to cut up your temporary card and dispose of it properly once your new one is activated. If you have used your previous card number to make reoccurring online bill payments or subscriptions, be sure to update your new card information with those vendors. (No need to update your info if you are using Fintwist Bill Pay In addition, remember—next time you go to an amusement park, be sure to keep call your valuables in a fanny pack!
